The city and surrounding areas offer many tourist attractions including the world’s largest panda breeding center, many beautiful mountains, traditional Sichuan Opera, Jinli Street, Du Fu’s Thatched Cottage, and more than a dozen nearby historic towns. Foreigners are rare but welcome in this city- expect to be revered as a celebrity while in town.

Shanghai is the country’s largest city in China by population and is well-known in the western world as a global financial hub. Given the city’s international presence, there are many expat circles in Shanghai. Sight-seeing highlights include the Bund, Yuyuan Garden, a night cruise on the Huangpu River, and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Bars and clubs litter the city and, if you do stop by, don’t leave until you have tried the legendary Xiao Long Bao Shanghai Steamed Soup Dumplings.


Shenzhen, the economic experiment of China, is a rapidly growing city in the Pearl River Delta located just 11 miles away from Hong Kong. Shenzhen feels like Spring almost all year round and is home to some great tourist attractions such as Happy Valley, Sea World, World of Wonders, and Splendid China. The city offers excellent restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment.
